Ok, this is an image that i spent the better part of a day (total time) making, its really my first valid attempt at making something which i consider to be more of a professional work than my previous images.
The image itself is loosely related to the construction going on around my homestead. Growing up we used to be the top area of the little mountain (if you can call it that) and above us we always had a great deal of forest around us. But as time passed, they leveled much of the forest and paved a new road and made space for new housings which basically made our house end up smack in the middle of it. Personally i think they are overdeveloping the area a little bit now, but it isn't really a lot i can do about it. Anyway, there is this one spot where you could be all alone and have a full view of Stjørdal which is the local town. At night the scenery is just spectacular and if you ever really wished to show someone your gentler side, this was the spot to go, but alas even it was built in so now you got roof tops ruining the view as a whole.
I used to go there to think and be alone from time to time when i needed to clear my head and it was just the best place to reflect on things.
This image is sort of a reflection of how i saw that spot. I love the sea (well except when the rotting seaweed wash up and start smelling like millions of farts being released) and the solitude of the single tree represents the peace and quiet and the flowers is the beauty. And the tree is intended to look as it does. The coloration is to represent a little decay which i actually think can be a beautiful thing.
Anyway, i hope you like it as much as i do.
And i also wish to extend a thanks to the people whos stock images made this image possible:
for the lovely flowers for the ocean for the rocky formation for the pier for the tree and last Straymuse (on sxc.hu) for the lovely clouds
yes, i share your fondness to the rural and countryside memories. when there were places we could go for free to unwind. love the tree -represents a solace.
Thanks. Yepp i too like the countryside, but if it wasn't to late now to get a good picture i would have taken a shot over the view of my local town nearby (10mins away from my home) In the darkest night when there is only the twinkling stars and perhaps a shining full moon there is nothing so peaceful as the view of that.

I really like this.. my god it takes me back to my Myst playing days it really looks like a screenshot from that game.. if you've ever heard of it?
And to have it based off of something that's happening/happened it great too, it mean's there's some real emotion behind it, right? It's a shame that some things are destroyed that give you that time to think and feel

Now that you mention it, yes it does look a bit like something from myst. Can't say i have played the game much though. Simply not my type of game, but i do like puzzles, just like the real ones better than the digital ones

Nah, and to be honest i actually didn't really think this was as good as i could make it. I spent a few hours on this and most of it was just cutting out the various images and the rest just removing all the faint traces that they where cutouts just glued together. There really isn't much to it actually and personally i feel there are much better artist out there and many of them here on dA. I still dabble a little in photoshop just to see if i can get any better
